The Mazda Mazda3 is a distinctively styled compact available in sedan and hatchback bodystyles. The Mazda3 sedan comes with a base 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Optionally available on the sedan and standard on the hatchback is a stronger 2.0-liter SKYACTIV engine with 155 hp mated to 6-speed transmissions, as well as a 2.5-liter engine with 167 hp and a 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual. The Mazda3 features a well-built interior and sporty handling, although the latter comes at the cost of a firm ride. The hatchback is also available in the performance-oriented Mazdaspeed3 trim powered by a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine with 263 hp.
