The Hyundai Sonata is a boldly styled and well-equipped mid-size sedan with a spacious and well-designed cabin and a large trunk. Powered by a choice of rather economical 4-cylinder engines, the Sonata rides smoothly and offers predictable handling. The base 2.4-liter 4-cylinder generates 190 hp, while the stronger 2.0-liter turbo is rated at 274 hp. The frugal choice is the hybrid, which combines the 2.4-liter with an electric motor for 199 hp. All engines come mated to a 6-speed automatic. Changes for 2014
For 2014, the Hyundai Sonata comes with a slightly restyled exterior and several detail changes. A Driver Selectable Steering Mode and tire-pressure monitor are now standard on all trims. SE trims come standard with leather steering-wheel, a new audio screen with rearview camera and HD Radio, carbonfiber interior trim and body-color spoiler. The Sonata Limited also gets the leather steering-wheel and audio screen and further adds a Blind Spot Detection System, automatic temperature controls, and ventilated driver's seat.
