The BMW X5 is an athletically styled luxury SUV with seating for up to seven. Powered by a wide range of powerful gas, hybrid, and diesel engines sending at least 255 and up to 567 hp to either the rear or all wheels through an 8-speed automatic, the X5 handles and rides at the top of its class on-road, but is not intended for serious off-road use. Its well-built cabin is safe and available with an abundancy of luxury options. It hosts five in perfect comfort, but is a rather tight for seven, if equipped with the optional third row seat.

Changes for 2018

The BMW X5 benefits from updated automatic transmissions for 2018 and now comes standard with a backup camera. X5 35i and 35d versions now feature trapezoidal tailpipes.
