The BMW X5 is an athletically styled luxury SUV with seating for up to seven. Powered by a wide range of powerful gas, hybrid, and diesel engines sending at least 255 and up to 567 hp to either the rear or all wheels through an 8-speed automatic, the X5 handles and rides at the top of its class on-road, but is not intended for serious off-road use. Its well-built cabin is safe and available with an abundancy of luxury options. It hosts five in perfect comfort, but is a rather tight for seven, if equipped with the optional third row seat.

Changes for 2017

The BMW X5 benefits from various enhancements for 2017, including an update of iDrive to version 5.0. The Premium Package on non-xDrive50i models now includes wireless charging and Wi-Fi Hotspot, as does the Executive Package on the xDrive50i.
